19 Pictures: Filiberto Ojeda Wake

A young man lowering the Puerto Rican flag at half mass.

A man dressed up as Pedro Albizu Campos.

A supporter bringing a flower arrangement.

The caravan is approaching.

Mourners carried a gigantic Lares flag. The car holding Ojeda's body drove under it.

A man dressed in a nationalist uniform stands by Ojeda's casket.

The archbishop of San Juan, in the front row.

Lolita Lebron leaving the wake area.

The line of people waiting to see the body coiled through the front yard of the Colegio de Abogados and extended down the street:

(Lolita Lebron is a Puerto Rican nationalist who led an attack on the U.S. house of representatives on March 1, 1954. She and three other men: Rafael Cancel Miranda, Andres Figueroa Cordero, and Irving Flores Rodriguez, walked into the building and opened fire, wounding Alvin M. Bentley, a republican congressman. They were arrested and as far as I know, Lebron is now free and living in Puerto Rico.) Pass the Buck

Living in Philadelphia my entire life (39 years), I would have never learned about my fathers land if not for people like you and. Thank you.
